5 Things You Must Do in Your Twenties (Even if You Didn’t Need to Before Now)

by Katie Schenk

As a teenager, you don’t need to spend a whole lot of time in front of the mirror to look incredible.

But, as you mature into your 20s, there are a few essential changes you need to make to continue looking your best now… and well into the future. These are the routines you should adapt to keep looking your best.

Eye Cream and Concealer

Your body isn’t as elastic as it was just a few short years ago… and it’s only the beginning. Stave off dark circles before they begin with plenty of eye cream before bed. And, it’s not a bad time to find a concealer that works under your eyes… you know, for those mornings.

Moisturizer with Plenty of SPF

Again with the skin care? Oh yes! Even if you’re planning to stay indoors or your skin doesn’t feel dry, you will still need to use moisturizer and SPF protection. Find a moisturizer with SPF and double up so you’re not overloading your face with product, and you’ll be radiant throughout the years.

Start Scrubbing

As you age, your skin cells tend to react a little slower and build up a little more. You’ll find that your skin needs a good scrub (just about everywhere) once or twice a week. Get into the habit now; not only will your skin appear more radiant, and you’ll look forward to this skin routine.

Take a Look from All Sides

You’re going to see a few extra hairs sprouting in the strangest of places. Then there are the hairline blemishes and pimples you’ve never seen before in your life. Looking at all angles of your face isn’t vanity; it’s a necessity.

Before You Turn in for the Night

Before hitting the hay, you will need to make sure you’ve removed all your makeup and thoroughly moisturized your face. You’ll regret it if you don’t. And, even though you want to be out all night with your friends, make sure you’re still getting plenty of sleep. It’s really not called “beauty sleep” for nothing.
