lehigh valley beauty school donatesThe Beginning Over Foundation accepted a check in the amount of $3,620.37 from the Lehigh Valley, PA, Empire Beauty School, as the students celebrated their 100 Days of Empire open house event.

The Beginning Over Foundation is a shelter helping victims of domestic violence. They proudly announced that they are operated by all volunteers and will be opening a new adolescence facility and in the next few months to help abused and bullied youths.

The Empire students and staff continued their festivities with a Luau theme. Local salons were invited and received tours and met with staff to let them know they will be helping students with job searches. The students also kept the salon extremely busy for the event, busier than they typically see on a Monday, offering complimentary beauty services and more.

The salon and classrooms were decorated to match the theme with various decorations, balloons, flowers and the students and staff were dressed for the them as well with leis, some wore grass skirts, and flowers in their hair. All guests where given leis when they entered the school. There was also a DJ at the school for the event and that really got the students and staff into the Luau spirit. There was steel drum music, island based music, singing and dancing from the students, and some students were playing the bongos that the DJ brought. Everyone had a blast.
