A beautiful new Empire school opened in Lauderhill, FL, minutes away from Fort Lauderdale’s sunny beaches, on January 26, 2009. The latest in the EEG system of 87 educational facilities, this school is packed with many new features and is the first location deemed an environmentally friendly.
The Lauderhill school has been officially awarded with a “Green Conscious Salon Certification” by the Florida Association of Beauty Professionals www.fabprofessionals.org/green. Highlights of this design model include the following:
- Water saving devices
- Natural gas saving water heaters
- Low voltage halogen lighting
- Motion sensor lights
- LED lighted exterior signs
- Flooring products of 100% recyclable material
- Eco-friendly paints
- Heat recovery ventilation system
This new school also incorporated custom-built recycling centers on site for paper, plastic and glass, and switched the beauty product lines to types that are certified organic and sulfate-free (Regis Designline PURE Results and Jane Carter Solutions-Nourish).
Lauderhil stands out for its impressive interior with modern equipment and a sleek design. Besides state-of-the-art team board technology, the school boasts these new attributes to please students and clients alike, such as: a treatment room for facials, waxing and skin treatments in a private relaxing setting, massaging pedicure chairs, and retail bar at the manicure and pedicure stations.
Other features include open-front retail center at checkout area for customer browsing, efficient overflow room with miniature hydraulic chairs for guest services, recessed lighting for more exact color applications, glass-front mini refrigerator at salon area housing 4 oz. water bottles offered to guests, interior wall painted with Empire’s burgundy, orange and blue colors, and upgrade to front-loading washers and dryers that hold 10 dozen salon towels per load.
The newly hired staff is excited to teach the CLiC curriculum where they can truly incorporate the 360o Design Experience. Led by Executive Director Neil Finkelstein, and Educators Nancy Navedo, Maria Valdes, Maria Nino, and Hilaria Ali (a transfer from the Richmond campus), the team is eager to join the Empire family in providing quality education, satisfying guest services, and a cleaner, healthy environment.
