EDUCATION PRESS reported that “Nominations for this award came from over 150 schools in the state” of Pennsylvania. The winner was Ann Darcangelo of the Shamokin Dam Empire Beauty School in the Orchard Hills Plaza on Routes 11 and 15. She received the award at the annual conference of the Pennsylvania Association of Private School Administrators (PAPSA) “at the Valley Forge Radisson in King of Prussia, PA,” according to the article.

EDUCATION PRESS says that PAPSA represents the more than 320 private career colleges and schools in the Commonwealth” of Pennsylvania “before the legislature, state agencies and professional associations” and “PAPSA is the unified voice of quality career school education.”

Shamokin Dam Empire Beauty School cosmetology educator Ann Darcangelo received the Instructor of the Year award from PAPSA Executive Director Richard Dumaresq, EdD. She earned the award for performance in “several criteria including: Response to Students’ Needs, Effectiveness and Originality, Professional Achievements, and Quality of Recommendations.”
