Wyoming Valley Hosts Next Stop Of Tour

article-imagesAs the 100 Days of Empire continues on the countdown to the 100th school, the Wyoming Valley, PA, campus hosted the second stop of the tour with their Open House and student competition events.

A local disc jockey got the crowd started and excited for the student competition that consisted of about 14 students competing against one another. With their mannequins, the students had to create either an up-do or partial up-do incorporating specific types of designs. They also had the option of tying in some creativity with the time of the year, such as hearts and red hair color for Valentine’s Day or silver glitter and snowflakes for a winter theme.

The students at the school also gave complimentary facials and manicures and according to Empire Events Coordinator, Jaclyn Becker, “The manicures seemed to be a huge hit!” There were several people who came for haircuts, styles and color — keeping the salon floor busy.

The Women’s Resource Center of Moosic also received a check for $5,303.74 on behalf of the school and their hard work during National Day of Beauty.
