Deciding whether or not to go to Beauty School can be a tough decision. Just like any other college, visiting the school and taking a tour of the facility is the best way to get a good feel of what it will truly be like. Seeing is believing!
How do you schedule a tour at Empire Beauty School? There are a couple of different ways:
You can fill out the online form on either www.empire.edu or Facebook.com/EmpireBeautySchool. Once you fill out the form, one of our Career Planning Coordinators will call you and schedule a time for you to visit the school. If you would rather call us directly or only have certain times when you can be reached, our number is 1-800-491-9647.
So now that we established how you can schedule a tour, many of you probably have lots of questions about your upcoming visit. Below is a list of some frequently asked questions that you may be thinking:
1. How should I dress for the tour? Empire does have a dress code policy while attending beauty school but for your first visit you may wear whatever you like. Making yourself look presentable always makes for a good impression.
2. What do I need to bring with me? During your first visit you do not need to bring anything with you. However, I would recommend that you write down on a piece of paper all of your questions or concerns so you that you don’t forget to ask them, especially if you are deciding between a couple of schools.
3. Can I bring my mom or a friend with me to the tour? Absolutely, this is a big step in your career and it’s great to have the support of loved ones and friends. It is also good to have them along as an extra set of eyes and ears and perhaps they may think of question that you didn’t.
4. What should I expect during my tour? When you arrive at the school you will be greeted by the receptionist who will then introduce you to the Career Planning Specialist at the school (CPS). The CPS will sit down with you and go over the many options available to you. The CPS will then take you around the school’s facility and also introduce you to school’s staff. You will get to see some students in the classroom as their educators teach them different concepts and techniques off the interactive white board. In another room, you will notice other students practicing their newly learned skills on mannequins. As you tour our student school salon, you will get to observe our senior-level students working on actual clients. While touring the school you can also ask any of the students about their experience at the school.
In addition to each school offering individual tours, we also offer open house events throughout the year. We invite all visitors to come in and tour the school and shadow a class. Maybe even take advantage of a service by our senior-level students at a special cost.
Come see how Empire can prepare you for an amazing and rewarding career!
