Empire Education Group Announces 4th Annual National Day of Beauty
October 1, 2008- Empire Education Group announced the organization’s up-coming 4th annual National Day of Beauty event, slated to occur on October 11. The one-day of beauty services performed by the Empire Beauty School students will donate all profits from hair, skin and nail services to local women’s shelters across the nation, and in conjunction with CUT IT OUT; an organization which has partnered with Empire to raise awareness and initiate training programs for the company’s 87 cosmetology schools.
Chairman and CEO of Empire Education Group Franklin K. Schoeneman noted the company’s dedication to making a positive impact on the issue of domestic abuse through National Day of Beauty, “We are dedicated to truly making an impact by promoting public awareness of this issue, which is so often hidden from view.”
The numerous Empire Beauty Schools located throughout the U.S. will raise funds by selling $5.00 haircut coupons to the public, $5.00 purple ribbon pins in support of raising awareness of domestic abuse, $1.00 donation circles, and donating their own money in order to wear purple every Friday until the National Day of Beauty event. The 87 cosmetology schools will also collect items to be donated to local shelters which each school has “adopted” in their area, such as hygiene products, canned foods and other suitable items for the residents of the shelters.
CUT IT OUT has worked with Empire to train and educate 11,000 students on identifying the signs of domestic abuse, and has committed their services to assisting the efforts of helping victims of domestic abuse. Research indicates there is a strong and personal connection salon employees maintain with their clientele. The environment often allows victims to feel comfortable communicating the abuse. Through CUT IT OUT’s educational training program, Empire’s future beauty professionals are instructed to offer victims information on local shelters and direct them to the proper authorities.
In previous years, Empire Education Group’s National Day of Beauty has garnered money for other charities supporting children in need.
