5th Annual National Day of Beauty Event Churns Out Over $170,000 For Shelters
Pottsville, PA, December 15th, 2010–Empire Education Group garnered over $170,000 during the company’s 5th annual National Day of Beauty event in October. The funds were raised in support of victims of domestic abuse housed in local shelters across the nation. The event marks the company’s efforts during the past five years at raising over a half a million dollars for those in need.
Each of the Empire Beauty Schools worked diligently during the one day event performing beauty services and selling additional items such as pins supporting the fight against domestic abuse.
Every school donated 100% of the proceeds from the event to the local shelters which they adopted through Empire Gives Back – a program working in conjunction with CUT IT OUT to raise more awareness and education about domestic abuse. Students and staff of the schools and employees at Empire Education Group’s home office also held other types of fundraising such as collecting personal care items, food, clothing, and even toys for the children and women residing at the shelters. Shelter residents, local police, emergency medical technicians and firefighters were offered complimentary beauty services at each of the 96 accredited cosmetology schools.
