A Day Of Pamper In Honor Of Our Military!

by Empire Beauty School

On Saturday, December 1, the students of the Kennesaw, GA, Empire Beauty School will show their appreciation for military personnel and their families by participating in Day of Pamper, an event to honor the troops and their families from the
Dobbins Air Force base in Smyrna, GA.

“We wanted to connect with the local military base and offer services to show our gratitude,” said Vanessa King, Executive Director of the Kennesaw school.

Over 20 students from the Kennesaw school will arrive at the U.S. Air Force base at 10:00 a.m. to offer free facials and manicures.  “The students all agreed that they wanted to donate their service and time,” noted King.

The event was inspired by student Kenta Sands, a former U.S. Army E4 Specialist who had been stationed in Korea for two and a half years, and had a first hand account of just how forgotten military troops feel during the holiday season.

Sands and his fellow students decided to initiate the Day of Pamper after discussing how they could brighten the holidays and show their appreciation for area military personnel and their families.

The students began their efforts by writing several thank you cards and well wishes in celebration of Thanksgiving to the troops overseas.  “I’m happy that my fellow peers pulled together to support our troops,” said Sands.

We will keep you posted on the Day of Pamper event, which is sure to be a success and a welcomed day of beauty for the troops and their families at the Dobbins Air Force base.
