Laurel Springs Beauty School Donates Funds to Shelter

laurel-springs-beauty-school-donates The Laurel Springs, NJ, beauty school hosted their 100 Days of Empire open house celebration with a check presentation to the Camden County Women’s Center in the amount of $914.25.

The shelter representatives were appreciative for the funds.  They also talked to the students and offered information about the shelter and the different types of domestic violence, as well as statistics about domestic violence.  They stressed to the students that it is important for them to know the signs of domestic violence, as cosmetologists their clients will confide in them-making the students a key first point of contact for victims.

The school also celebrated their 100 Days of Empire open house event with an 80’s theme, as guests were treated to tours of the school and free beauty services.

The students and staff were dressed in 80’s garb and put on a fashion show.  A number of students participated in the fashion show, which featured different styles from the 80’s such as: casual, business attire, club attire, formal attire, and workout/exercise attire.  The fashion show consisted of attire/dress, makeup and accessories.

There was also a mannequin competition which featured the students’ talents and skills incorporating the 80’s hairstyles, accessories and makeup.  The schools’ educators judged the students.
