avondale3In September, all the Region 1 Arizona Empire Beauty Schools participated in the Domestic Violence Coalition at the 30th Anniversary Gala Celebration and Awards Dinner. Empire’s participation in the event was initiated by Empire Education Group’s Vice President of Industry Relations Dorothy McKinley-Soressi.

Nearly 30 students provided basic hair styles, make up, nails and hair accessories to all the presenters, nominees, coalition staff, committee members, and the public in the reception area of the Fiesta Resort Conference Center in Tempe Arizona.

The students performed the beauty services to over 100 people as they entered the conference center. Since the Empire team of students and faculty were located at the main entrance of the conference center, they were able to assist a great number of the attendees.

After the reception the group from Empire entered the ballroom, once the function had begun, Empire was then introduced as one of the contributors of the function during the Gala, and was thanked for Empire’s generous contribution of $5,000 as well as for the wonderful and professional services the student offered to all the presenters, executive director, emcee, nominees, committee members, staff, and public.avondale2

“ The function was quite a success and our students, AD’s, ED’s and RD were very supportive in making this function such a success. I really enjoyed the event and I forward to participating in more functions like this in our region and for Empire,” added Regional Director Kurt Kuyper.

The participating students each will receive “a certificate of appreciation and recognition for the wonderful job they did,” noted Northwest Phoenix Cosmetology Educator Shelmadine Clother. The participating schools were: Central Tucson, North Tucson, Flagstaff, Chandler, Prescott, Northwest Phoenix, Avondale, and Paradise Valley.
