Empire Beauty School’s community involvement in South Jersey is extensive. Through the Empire Gives Back program, Empire supports the Camden County Women’s Center. Empire has also received national attention through the Cut it Out program. Cut it Out was developed in 2009 in Arizona, and it’s a program that helps hair stylists and spa treatment specialists to both properly recognize and respond to domestic violence. The program is now part of Empire’s curriculum throughout its entire school system. Supporting these programs as well as local women’s shelters is a very important part of Empire’s mission.

The Camden County Women’s Center is a private organization that helps survivors of domestic violence. It also helps prevent domestic abuse through community outreach and education. They provide services throughout Camden County and also offer a hotline to help in emergency situations. They offer shelter, help with law enforcement and restraining orders, and provide counseling for those in need.
