The Flagstaff, AZ, Empire Beauty School used a cultural theme “It Takes a Village all Around the World” in addition to the 100 Days to celebrate their Open House event.
The school focused on giving back to the community by giving complimentary beauty services instead of focusing on competitions for the day.
The staff and students presented Hope Cottage, a local domestic violence shelter, with a check in the amount of $2389.75.
The students were then divided into eight groups and each group had to
pick a cultural themes such as Hawaiian, Japan, Greece, Latin and Spain.
Each group got to bring in one live model or guest to show off their skills, knowledge and creativity. Most of the models were friends or family members.
Each group also made desserts from their selected culture to share with everyone.
The models then walked the runway featuring their makeup and hair created by the students. Guests at the event also enjoyed hourly drawings for raffle prizes consisting of various hair and skin care products.
