Hanover Park Cosmetology Students Host Flag Day Open House ShowBlog ▸ Campuses | March 26, 2011
It was a star-spangled banner event as the Hanover Park, IL Empire beauty School, students hosted an open house and fashion show in honor of Flag Day.
The school opened there doors to the public as they offered tours of the school and an information session for these interested in a career in Cosmetology and an education at the Empire Beauty School.
“We have done this type event before and it was such a huge success we decided to integrate this activity as a regular part of our school’s culture. These events have brought the student body together as a community while allowing for the sharing and exchange of creative and artistic expression,” said the school’s Executive Director, Vince Mathias.
The fashion show consisted of groups or teams of students and one model. Each group had a hair design and stylist, make-up artist and nail technician to complete their model’s look. Full and part-time students celebrated their unique looks incorporating red, white and blue.
Students sold tickets for the fashion show portion with proceeds from the event going toward the students’ 2011 Future Professional Expo fund.
