north-hills-pittsburg-beauty-schoolThe North Hills Empire Beauty School donated $464 to Hearth, a non-profit organization providing transitional housing to homeless women and children. The money the school donated was raised during Empire Education Group’s National Day of Beauty event in October 2009.

The check presentation was just one of the many highlights for the school as they celebrated the 100

Days of Empire with their Hollywood-theme open house event. The school was complete with a roped off red carpet section that clients had to walk down as they headed toward a station for the complimentary beauty services the students offered. Tours of the school were also given to prospective students hoping to learn more about careers in beauty through an education at Empire in the Pittsburgh area.

Two local salons, Philip Pelusi and Rouge, were also on hand to network with students and speak to the senior level students about graduation and job opportunities.

The students also hosted and participated in an up do hair competition that incorporated the stylish Hollywood theme with a Mardi Gras look. The mannequins were styled as though they were ready for the red carpet but fitted with masks for Mardi Gras. Several students also decided to dress up and walk the red carpet in their best Hollywood attire. There were a number of other students who helped the red carpet students dress and style their hair and make up.
