The 5 Best Haircuts for Long Faces

by Katie Schenk

Every face is beautiful. Just take a look and you’ll find something incredible about everyone’s face. But, every face is also different (okay, most faces are very different, but there are exceptions). And the most popular hairstyle in the magazines at the moment may not be the right ones for you.

If you’ve got a long face (no, not the sad kind), then you’ll want to take a look at these incredible styles that are perfect for your shape.

Pixie Cuts

Pixie cuts are perhaps the best cut for long faces as they visually cut the face, making it appear instantly shorter. But, you will need to watch out – you don’t want to add any height to your head. Longer, flatter pixies that sweep down in front of the ears is actually brilliant.

Long Bangs

There’s a possibility that we don’t need to say more than this. Long bangs are a long-faced girl’s best friend. It’s true whether they fall straight across the forehead or are pushed to the side.

Bobs (and Lobs)

Lobs are good; bobs are better – and the best is when the hair has plenty of texture around the sides of the face to instantly widen its appearance. Also, side parts and side highlights will transform even the most basic bob

Blunt Cuts

As long as those angles fall below your eyebrows, blunt cuts look awesome on long faces. Feel free to play until you find the right length for you (or rather, give your stylist permission to experiment).

Long Layers

You’ve probably been told to avoid long hair like the plague… but you can get away with it if you work in as many layers as possible. Frame your face, frame your forehead, frame your neck – just keep adding layers.
