Natalie Kruplis: Regis’s Unleash the Beauty of Potential Scholarship

by Courtney Weikel

Empire Beauty School Harrisburg, PA student Natalie Krupilis is a recipient of Regis’s Unleash the Beauty of Potential Scholarship in the amount of $5,000.

This scholarship is very helpful and makes me feel relieved. I don’t have to think about working to pay off school right away and having that stress. I can just do hair for the fun of it, and learn more about it.

Krupilis began her journey at Empire Beauty School in Harrisburg, PA in January of 2022 and graduated in September of 2022. With a position at Legion Hair Studio already lined up, Krupilis is relieved.

Jamie Suarez, Regis Senior Vice President Merchandising and Education, sends his congratulations to Krupilis:

We are very excited to announce that Natalie Krupilis has been selected to receive Regis’s Unleash the Beauty of Potential scholarship! As a high performing student, Natalie has consistently demonstrated a passion for the industry and dedication to the craft. We at Regis would like to congratulate Natalie on her achievements and wish her the very best as she enters into her new career.

Krupilis appreciated the positive learning atmosphere at Empire Harrisburg, allowing her to learn from mistakes.

Being on the salon floor and having real clients was important to me during my time at Empire Beauty School. When you make a mistake, they understand that you are learning at a school. You are able to learn from your mistakes. I really like the hands-on and work experience. My most memorable moments were with the teachers, funny moments, and special bonds with them. There’s certain educators I go to when I am having problems or want to talk to them.

Cosmetology was a career path that Krupilis always had a passion for, starting at a young age.

At a very young age, I always knew I wanted to become a cosmetologist. It was my dream job. I was expected to go to college and do something in the medical field which I tried for a semester. When I was younger, I would do my own hair and get compliments on it.

Krupilis fights through her toughest days by remembering why she started and the struggle to find the support.

I wanted to prove to my family that this is what I want to do and succeed at. I enjoy being able to come home to show my family my progress and it makes me happy knowing they are proud of me.
