Campuses — 28 March 2011

Local salon owners, community leaders and guests were warmly welcomed into the Cherry Hill, NJ, beauty school, which had been transformed into a tropical paradise. Steel drum music played as palm trees and tropical flowers lined the classrooms and student salon floor.

The students entertained guests with their hair competition using the tropical theme on their models. Prizes were awarded to the winners as the students held a 50/50 raffle, offered free beauty services and tours to guests.

The students of the school also proudly presented funds to a local women’s shelter, The Providence

House, in the amount of $963. The shelter representatives spoke to the students about how the funds will assist in helping the quality of life for those at the shelter, and how important it is for them to learn and know the many different signs and types of domestic violence and abuse that exists. The  representatives plan to come back to hold a training for the students.
