Concord School Hosts Competition and Open House Together

concord-open-houseEmpire Beauty School in Concord, North Carolina, hosted their local competition with their Celebrating Mom open house event. Tracey Thompson, Executive Director of the Concord campus, described the school’s dual events as “Electric!”

The students kicked off their open house with refreshments and a lunch buffet, free beauty services and manicures, and then the students really took it up a notch with original poems and serenaded songs dedicated to their mothers and all the invited mothers and guests at the event.

“We pinned our mom’s with a ribbon of their choice; red for love and passion, green for health and energy, purple for royalty, and yellow for joy and happiness,” added Thompson.

The students then took the opportunity to present their adopted shelter from the local community, Women’s Program, with a donation in the amount of $908.42.

“They were very excited about the amount of money they helped raise,” noted Thompson. A representative from the shelter, accepting the donation  conveyed her appreciation and thanked the students and staff for their continued support. She shared information about the programs offered at the shelter and stories about how Empire’s support helps them continue impacting the local community.

The students continued the exciting events for the day with a competition. Participating students showcased their talents and creativity during the schools local competition to determine which students will head to Empire Education Group’s Future Professionals Expo in Hershey, PA, in May. Several salon professionals from the community were on hand to judge the winners.

“A great time was had by all!” concluded Thompson.
