Frankly Speaking: A video series for Empire Beauty School students

by Empire Beauty School

Frank Schoeneman, Empire Education Group’s CEO and chairman, wanted to take the education of Empire Beauty School students one step further.  He recognized that students often admire celebrities like Nick Arrojo and Beth Minardi for what they’ve accomplished in the beauty industry.  Guess what?  They also had to start out somewhere.

Frankly Speaking is a video series dedicated to interviewing icons in the beauty industry.  Frank took the time to interview what a few might call beauty celebrities.  He wanted students to recognize that passion, dedication and hard work are at the root of achieving your beauty career dreams.   By asking the beauty greats a few tough questions, Frank hopes students will learn from their mentoring.  We all have to start our careers somewhere: It just might not be as Katie Perry’s personal stylist.

Frankly Speaking was designed for Empire Beauty School students.  The video series is shown in classrooms to inspire students to understand what it takes to be successful in the beauty industry.  Of course, it all starts with passion and hard work.  Students need to obtain their cosmetology license and begin cutting hair.  The truth, Frank shows us in his videos, is that it’s a lot of hard work to be part of the beauty industry.  Those with a true passion keep going. They don’t give up and they keep working hard.  Their talents continue to shine, even brighter than their perseverance to do what they love: Hair.

What did a mentor teach you?  Did your hard work get you an opportunity you never thought you’d have in the beauty industry?  Any surprise promotions just from doing what you love, cutting, styling or coloring hair?
