“Despite only getting her beauty license recently, Khadija Hamami is no stranger to the cutting shears,” according to an article by Becca Gregg, a Sentinel reporter. According to Gregg, the Moroccan native practiced her trade for 15 years and owned two beauty salons but, after coming to Pennsylvania, she had to learn English and get her cosmetology license by passing the Pennsylvania cosmetology exam. Hamami “enrolled in Empire Beauty School and devoted nearly all of her free time to studying for the test.”

Now a graduate of the Harrisburg Empire Beauty School on Jonestown Road, Khadija Hamami owns the Casablanca Hair Salon in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. According to The Sentinel, she “has begun to gain a following among residents of all ethnicities—many of whom come for her hairdressing talent, and others who stop in for a bit of her Moroccan charm.”
