by Empire Beauty School

lisle-01The Family Shelter Service accepted funds raised by the Lisle, IL, Empire Beauty School in the amount of $870.59.

A shelter representative spoke to the students about the shelters history through present day and she also informed the students, staff and guests how the donated funds would be used to help the residents at the shelter.

In addition to the 100 Days of Empire, the school also celebrated a Red Carpet theme on the day of their event. The school even had a red carpet and held a fashion show throughout the day.  The fashion show consisted of students who volunteered to be models.  The models chose an era and had to incorporate dress, makeup and hair to their completed look.  The students who did not wish to model an era for the fashion show helped with the model’s hair and makeup for the event.  The eras consisted of the 1920’s, 1960’s, 1980’s and the future.

Throughout the day students offered school tours and performed free beauty services to welcomed guests of the open house event.
