Monroeville, PA School Presents Donation to ShelterBlog ▸ Campuses | April 2, 2011
The Monroeville Empire Beauty School in Pennsylvania presented the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh a donation in the amount of $1094.89. The money was the result of fund raising during Empire Education Group’s National Day of Beauty event in October 2009.
The students also hosted a theme with their 100 Days of Empire event called “Team Work Makes the Dream Work!” The students worked together to transform a classroom into a serene spa with complimentary manicures, pedicures and mini facials for guests.
Students also worked together in teams to coordinate two fashion shows which were judged by local salon professionals. The teams prepared their models using the theme of ‘Professional Wear’ and the models walked the catwalk to show off their styles for the welcomed guests. The school also recognized students during performance awards as other students prepared for a second catwalk presentation using the theme ‘Transitioning Professional Wear to Night Wear.’
In addition to the events, the students also offered tours of the school to prospective students and networked with area salon representatives and community leaders attending the event.
