Spring Lake Park, Minnesota Empire Beauty School Featured in Women’s Advocates’ Article: “CUT IT OUT: NEW RELATIONSHIP WITH EMPIRE EDUCATION GROUP”

In this article, Women’s Advocates expressed that the organization “is happy to announce the development of a new relationship with Empire Education Group…the nation’s largest system of cosmetology schools under common ownership,” which “recently opened” a beauty school in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota. The article also stated that Empire Education Group “began a comprehensive anti-domestic violence program called ‘Empire Gives Back’ that includes” beauty school student “training, fundraising, victim support, public awareness and education efforts.”

According to Women’s Advocates, Empire Education Group has “worked closely with the U.S. Department of Justice to develop and grow ‘Empire Gives Back’ which is directly tied to CUT IT OUT, a program that teaches” beauty salon professionals “to recognize signs of domestic abuse and safely guide those clients to people and resources that can help them.”

Raeone Loscalzo, Executive Director of Women’s Advocates, and Franklin K. Schoeneman, CEO and Chairman of Empire Education Group, attended a press conference to announce the opening of the new cosmetology school on University Avenue N.E. in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota. Women’s Advocates is the adopted women’s shelter of Empire Beauty Schools in the Twin Cities area including the Bloomington Empire Beauty School on Lyndale Avenue and the Saint Paul cosmetology school on Suburban Avenue.

The Women’s Advocates article expressed gratitude for Empire Education Group’s willingness to provide support among beauty school students, cosmetology educators and school officials including fundraising for Women’s Advocates, free beauty services for women and children from the shelter and “financial assistance to residents at the shelter to attend any Empire Beauty School in the country.”
