How can YOU be THE MASTER APPRENTICE?

A BIG announcement was unveiled at this year’s Empire’s Future Pro Expo that could be a Life Changing Opportunity for one Lucky Empire Beauty School Student- The Master Apprentice Contest.

This contest gives an Empire Student a dream job of working as an APPRENTICE to TV Personality, Stylist, Educator, 2-Time Platform Artist of the Year and Top Salon Owner, Nick Arrojo, in New York City.  They will also receive $10,000 for living expenses.
To Enter the contest students must go to http://www.facebook.com/mastersofbeauty – Click on the “Master Contest” link below the profile picture and then click on “Enter Contest” on the right side under Master Apprentice logo.

For the first round, students will pick a category- cut, color or style. Then they will be required to upload a photo.  They should keep in mind when uploading their photo that this should be their best work; thousands of people will be viewing their work and this is a great opportunity to really showcase their creative and artistic talent. Plus, they can only enter in the contest once and with only one photo.  Students have until September 30th to enter the online contest. Once they uploaded their photo the public, family and friends are encouraged to vote for their favorite.

To help encourage the voters to keep voting for their favorite we will be giving away an iPad each month.  So every time a voter votes their name will be entered into a sweepstakes for an iPad.  The begining of each month a winner’s name will be drawn and we will post it on the Masters of Beauty Facebook Page.

October 1st – October 14th – judging and quarter finalists will be selected. Once the finalists have been selected to move on to round two of the contest they will be contacted and asked to upload a 2-3 minute video. In this video, we are asking the finalists to give us a brief introduction of themselves along with a before and after look of their created style. Keep in mind we are looking for some Arrojo elements as you create your look, such as unique color placement and texture within the cut, edgy and dimensional color, hair with a natural finish and a polished full body look, styling flexiblity within the cut, and you should make sure you have the right amount of product in the hair to show detail to the cut. You should also briefly explain the techniques and tools you are using during your video.

Finalist will have until October 31st to upload their video.  To help you prepare for the next round we would like to suggest going to one of the Masters of Beauty Skill Certification Classes, where you can learn hands on from Nick’s Master Stylists his precise techniques.  If you are unable to attend one of the skill classes we will also have DVD’S available for you.

Voters will continue to vote until December 31st when round 2 ends. From January 1st – January 21st 2012 judging will take place and the 10 quarter finalists will be selected to move to the next round.  During this period we will send a videographer to each of the 10 finalists to interview and video tape them in their school working on a live model.  Voting will continue on January 23 once all the videos are uploaded to the sight.

For the Final round we will select the top 3 winners to travel to Hershey, Pennsylvania in April 2012 for Empire’s Future Pro Expo. They will be brought on stage along with their live models and Nick will announce “The Master Apprentice”.  Second and third place winners will also be awarded.
