Harrisburg Students and Staff Honored by ‘Dress for Success’

Empire Beauty School in Harrisburg, PA receives award for service to cause.

Empire Beauty School students and staff were recently presented an Award from the Greater Harrisburg Dress for Success Program.  The Diamond Award was presented to the campus for the hard work and dedication student and staff offer to the Dress for Success clients.

Empire Beauty School in Harrisburg, PA was honored with the Diamond Award by the Dress for Success program.

The students do salon services and make overs for the participants in the Dress for Success program. The low no-cost services are done when clients are going for job interviews.

The award was given at the 8th annual Capital Area leadership breakfast “Women & Change.”

The organization also recognized Empire on a corporate level for our overall success with partnerships at many campuses across the system.

Dress for Success solves the catch-22 that confronts disadvantaged women trying to enter the workforce:  without a job, how can you afford a suit?  But without a suit, how can you get a job?

While the suiting program remains a crucial part of the program’s work, it has expanded to include other services needed in a woman’s journey toward self-sufficiency.
