The North Tucson Empire Beauty School presented a donation in the amount of $1,095.68 to Emerge Women’s Shelter, the school’s adopted anti-domestic violence shelter, during their Celebrating Mom Open House event.

The money was raised by the students at the school during the 2010 National Day of Beauty. Anna, a representative from the shelter, expressed her sincere thanks to the students for their support. She also explained to everyone how the donation would be used and how it would help so many women at the shelter.

The students at the North Tucson continued the open house celebration with refreshments and entertainment. Each student invited someone who inspires them for a beauty makeover and to walk the red carpet during their fashion and beauty show. Essays were written about the individual and read as they walked the red carpet during the show. Everyone received a red carnation of appreciation for all they have done to inspire and support the students in their careers and throughout their lives.
