Located on West Hamilton Avenue in the Hamilton Square Plaza 1 block off of South Atherton Street, at the South Fraser Street intersection, in this infamous college town is Empire Beauty School of State College, PA.
This 40+ year old beauty school has been turning out future beauty professionals at this location. There is plenty of free parking. Our beauty school is within walking distance of the Penn State University Main Campus. Students have convenient access to public transportation through the Centre Area Transit Authority (CATA) bus lines, as well as nearby gas stations such as Graham's Exxon, Minit Mart, Penns Mobil, and several others. Take in a shopping excursion to the Nittany Mall or the local shops in the town. State College Empire Beauty School students actively participate in community events which support their hands-on training such as performing a day of beauty services for local patrons. The proceeds benefit raising awareness about domestic abuse. The students also have the opportunity to participate in local and national competitions, as well as their own beauty shows to highlight their skills and talents. Empire's Future Professional Expo allows students to gain exposure to the beauty industry, experience one on one mentor workshops with beauty professionals and have the opportunity to interview with salon leaders.
Linda and Brian Gilbride and daughters Kelly Davis and Amy Costanzo are all graduates of Empire Beauty School and work together in their family owned salon. Linda was the first in the business, and also is in management with haircare manufacturer Joico.
